Earlier this year fifty artists from across the UK were invited to take part in the Howard De Walden Estate Competition. The artists were asked to come up with two works based on the London Borough of Marylebone with the finished 100 works to be displayed in Thompson's Gallery in Marylebone High Street. There are three prizes to be judged by a panel of well known people who either live or work in Marylebone.The work is all done, the exhibition is hanging and the judging takes place tomorrow.
It's a fascinating exhibition which covers a wide range subject matter from Lords Cricket ground, local shops, street scenes, the canal, Regents Park, buildings both exterior and interior, markets, parks and more
'Canal Barge' above is one of my two paintings and I'm happy to say that it is already sold.
