Early morning.

Auchinleck House, the Scottish home of James Boswell.
He and Dr Johnson based themselves here when they set off on
their great Hebridean adventure.
At that time the house was owned by Boswell's father.

Couple of examples of wildlife around the village.

There's been a bit of snow on the hills this week bringing
freezing temperatures. Brrrrr.

GSA Sculpture project

Students in Glasgow School of Art's Sculpture
department were given access to Pollok House
and came up with work connected to the
house and it's history. My favourite two are
the gloves by Honey Jones Hughes and the books
which are spread throughout the house and garden
by Kate O'Shea.

Down at the beach in Troon. A very cold walk but always
refreshing.

Around and about on one of our walks.

Two of my paintings in the window of the Red Rag Gallery in
Bath. This is preparation for a two person show there in the
autumn of 2017. I'll have a few paintings there most of the time
in the eighteen month run up to the show.

Lots of drainage problems in the fields locally
after all that rain. They did manage to drain this
area after unblocking old pipes.

Scottish Exhibition, Wimbledon

Ooops it's been a month since my last post. Now it's winter and snow
is everywhere. The birds love a wee feeding frenzy.

Alec Galloway exhibition.

If you happen to be in Greenock in the next couple of days
then go to Quigley Architects in George Square where Alec
Galloway is having an exhibition of paintings and stained glass.
These stained glass panels are just fabulous.

There's something very beautiful about the dying and drying of
wild flowers as they create their seeds and fulfill this years life
cycle.

nice wee robin that flew up to us while we were out for a
walk.

Lovely soft colours set off this bared tree. A cold cold day.

Misty morning

This fabulous old house has been renovated and
divided into nine apartments after years of neglect.
There is so much history here. The current mid
nineteenth century building incorporates bits of the
1600 house and a much earlier dwelling. It was
the home of the Dunlop family.
Robert Burns was a regular visitor as he was friendly
with the family.
