Wonderful colours in the garden. The sun was so strong
last week it felt like we were abroad.

The Angels' Share wins the Jury Prize at Cannes.
We are going to the premiere tomorrow as I play
a defense lawyer in the opening scene. Very
exciting. Should be a good night.......
EXTRA
Just saw the premiere....the guy I was
defending was cut from the film so my
speech was cut too. Pity. Great film
though. Very funny.

Now that's what I call a tree! It's huge. Mind you it's not the
tallest tree in Ardkinglas Gardens but it feels like the overall
biggest. A wonderful sight.
The other big tree is the tallest in the UK and is another
'British Champion Tree'.
Ardkinglas also boasts a fine collection of rhododendrons
which are looking nice at the moment.
Standing by the tree is my friend Donna who is from
Texas where most things are bigger than they are anywhere
else and even she was impressed.

Thinking about views from windows. This view
struck me as one from our agricultural history.

Reminds me of old movies.

Now exhibiting in the 'Premier Collection' with Greens and Blues
Gallery in North Berwick. This is a painting of Montalcino in
Tuscany. The 'Premier Collection' is a new venture in which the
gallery are exhibiting the very best of Scottish painting with two
paintings from each artist. Viewing by appointment only. Greens
and Blues have two galleries in North Berwick. One is the general
gallery and frame shop and the other is exclusively the 'Premier
Collection'. Sounds good to me.

It's raining this morning so I thought we needed some
flowers in the sunshine.

Glasgow International

One of the best exhibitions in Glasgow International
is Adrian Wiszniewski at the Glasgow Print Studio. It's a
mixture of paintings and prints. As John McKechnie (who
runs Glasgow Print Studio) said to me...'it's good to see an
exhibition of paintings in the festival.'
Despite being advertised in the festival brochure as ending
on May 7th, it actually runs until the end of the month.
Highly recommended.

Glasgow International

Probably the most visited artwork in the Glasgow International
festival was Jeremy Deller's inflatable Stonehenge. It was
huge and great fun. Adults are not usually allowed on bouncy
castles and the like so this was a great opportunity to have fun.
Sadly it has had its run and is heading off to London for the
Olympics where I've no doubt there will be massive queues to
get on.

Blogspot have a new system and I can't work out how to make the photographs bigger.

Great wee story. This painting was bought before the opening night.
The owner of the boat came along to the gallery, recognised his boat
and has invited the owner of the painting to visit the actual boat.
I like that.
