Blek Le Rat

This is street art by Blek Le Rat...born Xavier Prou in Paris in 1952.
Twenty years before Banksy he was doing this kind of thing. If you
go onto Google Images and type in Blek Le Rat you'd think you'd
found Banksy's site. Interesting.

The centre of Glasgow is doubling for Philadelphia in
Brad Pitt's new movie World War Z. George Square as
you've never seen it before. Filming started yesterday

Pink Fir Apples

Dug up some Pink Fir Apple potatoes from the garden.
Brought them into the kitchen and gave them a wash
before laying them on a red tea towel to dry for cooking
later on. Decided to photograph them under the kitchen
spotlights and this is how it turned out. Wild.

Clerkland Farm Tea Room

The new exhibition at Clerkland Farm tea rooms is by Robert Clow.
It is a group of sensitive drawings and water colours. Stop by, have
a cup of tea and a scone...or lunch. Look at the exhibition.
Buy some of Anne Hamilton's delicious cheese.
Half way between Dunlop and Stewarton in Ayrshire.

Picked up this wonderfully colourful chandelier. Trying to
work out where to hang it. Mind you with our low ceilings
there can only be a couple of places where it won't give
us concussion.

Lime Tree gallery, Bristol

Dropped into the Lime Tree Gallery in Hotwell Road, Bristol to see
their Summer Show in which I have a painting. Sister gallery to the
Lime Tree in Suffolk, the Bristol gallery has only been in place for a
few years but is doing very well in these difficult times. The Summer
Show features Scottish painters and is a great exhibition so if you are
in Bristol go in and have a look.
Can you spot my painting?

Bristol's Harbour Festival

It was the Harbour festival in Bristol this weekend
and the turn out was fantastic.
One thing Bristol does really well is use it's riverside.
There are restaurants, galleries, museums and shops.
Even without the festival this is a riverside that
attracts people and keeps the place alive. When the
festival is on it is wonderful. I can think of a city not
a million miles from here who could use a few
planning lessons when it comes to creating a vibrant
riverside that actually attracts people.
