Glasgow Book

  1. This is, without a doubt, the best photographic essay on Glesca those wonderful black and white photographs of wee laddies in the gorbals and a dirty faced wee lassie in Townhead around 1961, just when I started school at the top end of Cathedral Street. Charlie's book is to photographs of Glasgow as Joan Eardley was to paintings of people in the city, and he's a braw dauber as well. Go out and buy it now; one for your wife, one for your partner and one for your fancy boyor girl; buy one and donate it to your local library; buy one and put it up for auction on E Bay and Charlie might just autograph the first copy that someone buys for £100 providing you donate the difference between the purchase price and the sale price to a charity of your choosing.
